International Initiatives

Announcement: The International Initiatives Team has opened the application process for the Chinese Government Scholarship. Administered by the China Scholarship Council (CSC), the scholarship will fund tuition and living expenses for a Georgetown undergraduate studying abroad in China over the 2008-2009 academic year. For more information, download the call for applications (.doc) and application form (.doc). Applications will be accepted until March 31st, 2008.

International Initiatives was created to coordinate, initiate and sustain international initiatives across the University, including the Law Center and the Medical Center. To ensure that all academic units were represented, a Faculty Committee for International Initiatives was appointed with members representing departments and programs across the University.

Within the Office of the Provost, the International Initiatives Team develops, implements and evaluates international programs and serves as a clearinghouse on international activities at Georgetown. The team also operates the Georgetown University Liaison Office in Shanghai, China and maintains the Georgetown International Traveler's Resource, along with other web sites on Georgetown's international presence.
