Team Members
Dr. Dong joined Georgetown in August 2007 to lead Georgetown’s Liaison Office in Shanghai, China. Based at Georgetown’s partner, Fudan University, she works closely with a range of Georgetown units to coordinate current activities with Fudan and in China more generally, developing and launching new initiatives, establishing new channels for recruiting Georgetown students, faculty and researchers, organizing visits of Georgetown delegations to Fudan and other locations in China, and reinforcing Georgetown’s reputation in China. She received her BA in English Language and Literature from Shanghai International Studies University, MS in learning and instruction from the University of Southern California, and Ph.D. in educational policy and administration from the University of Minnesota. Mr. Kaufman joined International Initiatives in 2007 as a program assistant primarily focused on China and new program development. He earned a BSFS from Georgetown’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, where he majored in Regional and Comparative Studies, with a concentration on Asia. David has studied abroad at Beijing University and served as an intern for Shanghai United Cell Biotechnology, a Sino-Foreign Joint Venture enterprise engaged in the development, manufacturing and marketing of biopharmaceuticals. Mr. Robfogel is Director, International Initiatives, for the Office of the Provost at Georgetown University, where he leads a team that works with the faculty to develop, implement and evaluate new international opportunities for the university. Prior to joining the university in 2002, he held several positions at the Inter-American Dialogue, including Project Director for Central America and General Coordinator of the Group of Fifty. He earned a BA in literature and Latin American studies from Haverford College (Phi Beta Kappa), and an MBA from Georgetown's McDonough School of Business (Beta Gamma Sigma). Mr. Thomas is responsible for developing, building, and refining communication tools for international initiatives at Georgetown, as well as coordinating other special projects. He joined International Initiatives from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown, where he received his MA in German and European Studies in 2007. Mr. Thomas received a BA in International Affairs and Economics from George Washington University in 2005. He has previously worked with the Office of the President at Georgetown, the Embassy of Liechtenstein to the United States and Human Rights Watch. Languages: English and German.
Ms. Wulan joined Georgetown in 2005 and manages programs focused on China, including the China Scholarship Council-Georgetown University Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program and the summer workshop at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute for Fudan University. She helps faculty to develop and implement programs with Chinese universities and agencies of the Chinese government, as well as campus events related to China. In addition, she is the team's point person for financial administration. She holds a BA and an MA, both in International Relations, from Renmin University of China and Baylor University, respectively. Languages: English and Mandarin.
