Main Campus Planning Committee (MCPC)

The Main Campus Planning Committee was created in the early 1980's to advise the Provost on the operating budget and long term strategic and financial planning. The MCPC was and is the preeminent vehicle for shared governance on the Main Campus. In the beginning, MCPC membership was primarily faculty with the College dean and several student representatives rounding out the group. The Provost served as chair and several Provost Office members (especially the Main Campus Finance Officer) served as staff and ex-officio members to the MCPC. Today, the purpose of the committee is unchanged, however the membership has increased significantly to include all the Main Campus school deans and a number of additional administrators. Currently, the university chief operating officer serves as MCPC chair.
