Starting this fall, Georgetown will offer a cybersecurity scholarship open to undergraduate and graduate students in the field. Students from a wide variety of programs on campus who study cybersecurity are eligible. A $5 million grant from the National Science Foundation administered by researchers in the Computer Science Department will fund the CyberCorps Scholarship for Service Program for five years. In exchange for working in the public sector after graduation, students will receive tuition and stipend support as well as professional development opportunities. Scholarship recipients must spend an equivalent time working in cybersecurity in the public sector as they spend in the scholarship program. Through this program and others, the department continues to attract new and diverse applicants to Georgetown’s campus. Applications for academic year 2017-18 closed on April 7 and accepted applicants begin their studies in Fall of 2017.
