How to Nominate
Any faculty, staff, or student at Georgetown can use this form to nominate a Main Campus staff/AAP member for the award. Nominations are due on January 31 and September 30 of each year, with selections announced by February 28 and October 31. Any nomination not selected for an award will automatically roll into the next awards cycle.
Process for Selection of Awardees
The Main Campus Caucus of the elected Staff/AAP Advisory Council will select three rotating members of its caucus to serve as the selection committee PLUS a member of the Provost’s Office staff and the HR staff.
If a direct report of a Main Campus Caucus selection committee member has been nominated, the member will recuse themselves from that selection round. Additionally, Main Campus Caucus members will not be eligible for the award while they are serving on the Staff/AAP Council. If a committee member is unable to serve, a representative from the Office of the Provost will fill in for them.
Award Amount and Distribution
The Main Campus Caucus selection committee will offer four awards of $2,500 each through the Provost Distinguished Staff Awards program. The monetary award will be disbursed through GMS and is categorized as taxable income. Any stipulations/voluntary deductions awardees have for their income, such as retirement or metro benefit contributions, will impact this payment.
Award winners (and their nominators) will be contacted by email by the Main Campus Caucus.
