Travel Support: Domestic and International

International Travel is always governed by the University’s International Travel Policy. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University has in place a temporary COVID-19 Travel Policy, which faculty must consult to determine whether or not their intended travel is permitted, and under what circumstances.

If such travel is permitted under those policies, faculty must comply with all other University policies (e.g., financial or departmental approvals).

Specifically, the Main Campus Faculty Research Travel Policy applies to travel by faculty for research or teaching that is funded by the faculty member’s research account as authorized by a unit head, dean, EVP, or the President (“Funded Faculty Travel”), by outside grants, and by competitive internal research grants.

The Georgetown Travel Service will assist you with all aspects of your travel planning with the objective of keeping travel costs as low as possible. The CONCUR reservation tool may be used for professional travel and/or for personal leisure travel.

Faculty who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 and faculty who are traveling to an “elevated risk region” should complete the Travel Request Form to receive Provost approval for their travel.
