Junior Faculty Research Fellowships

Since AY 2013/14, all newly hired assistant professors are contractually guaranteed a Junior Faculty Research Fellowship.  The JFRF can be taken either as a full semester of leave free of any teaching or service obligations, or as equivalent course load reductions over a longer period of time.

Junior Faculty Research Fellowships are usually taken in a faculty member’s third or fourth year.  Requests for JFRFs should be submitted via GMS by clicking on the “Faculty Research Leave” icon.  For further instructions, please consult this job aid.
