Ethan Wilcox Receives the Senior Area Chair Award from the Association of Computational Linguistics Annual Meeting

Professor Ethan Gotlieb Wilcox, of the Department of Linguistics, received the Senior Area Chair Award from the Association of Computational Linguistics Annual Meeting. The award was given to the paper “Using Information Theory to Characterize Prosodic Typology: The Case of Tone, Pitch-Accent and Stress-Accent”, for which Prof. Wilcox was the first author. The SAC award is nominated by senior members of the field, and given to the top ~1% of papers at the ACL Annual Meeting, a large international conference with about 4,000 accepted papers.
